Although Gore and Cheney have redefined the once strictly ceremonial Vice Presidency, Edwards' expertise and his ethics would be much better focused on leading the Bush-battered Department of Justice.

Okay, so that wasn't such a hot idea. Who knew?

friends: i have spent my entire career in the criminal justice system on both sides of the aisle. the selection of an appropriate attorney general who is not a political puppet of either political party or of any president is critical to the survival of our great republic. we have seen the worst of agenda-oriented hires in the gonzalez hire by bush. locally the united states attorney for the northern district of illinois has beeb placed on this administration's "hit list" since he objectively prosecuted scooter libby. this was done notwithstanding the fact that he has spearheaded the clean-up of the leadership of the chicago police department. we as informed citizens need to do better & do it now. junkyarddog
